The Accident: Tourist Vehicle Plunges into Teesta River
On the night of May 29, amid heavy rainfall in Mangan district, Sikkim, the tourist vehicle they were traveling in fell into a 1,000-foot-deep gorge near the Teesta River. The accident claimed one life, left two injured, and eight others, including Kaushalendra and Ankita, remain missing.

NDRF and Army Conduct Rescue Operations
Sikkim Police, the Indian Army, and NDRF teams are conducting continuous search operations. However, bad weather and strong river currents are hampering rescue efforts. Kaushalendra’s father, Sher Bahadur Singh, Ankita’s brother, and other relatives are present in Mangan, coordinating with rescue agencies.

The family has appealed to the Sikkim and Uttar Pradesh governments to intensify search operations. Kaushalendra is his parents’ only son, and Ankita’s family is also in distress.
