Renowned film and television actor Mukul Dev has passed away at the age of 54, leaving the entertainment world in deep shock. The actor, known for his versatile performances across Bollywood and television, breathed his last late last night after a period of illness.

Known for his calm demeanor and powerful screen presence, Mukul Dev was more than just an actor—he was a storyteller. Whether playing a tough cop or a layered antagonist, he brought authenticity to every role. His quiet departure is a reminder of how fleeting life can be, even for those who once lit up the screen.

The news was confirmed by actor Vindu Dara Singh, who had worked with Mukul in the film Son of Sardaar. Speaking to India Today/Aaj Tak, Vindu shared that Mukul had been unwell for quite some time and was undergoing treatment at a hospital.

“He was a brilliant actor and a genuinely kind soul. Sadly, Mukul won’t be able to see himself on the big screen anymore,” Vindu said with a heavy heart. He also revealed that after the passing of Mukul’s parents, the actor had withdrawn from social life, preferring isolation and rarely stepping out or meeting anyone.

Mukul Dev had carved a niche for himself with memorable roles in films like Dastak, Qayamat, Yamla Pagla Deewana, and Son of Sardaar. He was equally popular on the small screen, with strong performances that made him a household name in the 90s and early 2000s.

Fans and colleagues from the industry have taken to social media to express their grief and pay tribute to the late actor. His absence will surely be felt deeply in the world of Indian cinema.

Mukul is survived by his close family and friends, who are currently in mourning. Funeral details are awaited.
